AMSLER'S GRID SERIES

These paintings are explorations of the emotive properties of color based on the Amsler Grid, a simple 4-quadrant classic grid which is used to test the macula, the very central part of the retina used for color discrimination.  Here is the Amsler Grid:

An Amsler grid is a useful tool for monitoring central visual field. It is an important way to detect early and sometimes subtle visual changes in a variety of macular diseases such as macular degeneration. It is also helpful in monitoring changes in vision once they have been detected.
